If you're following a plan that's restricting your intake to 1000 calories a day, your body simply won't keep up long-term.



2. You cut out entire food groups

Are you eating only protein and vegetables all day long? Are you tossing the egg yolks? Is bread a no-no? Is sugar off limits? 3. You don't cook your own meals

Not only is drinking green juice all day long, living off of frozen entrees, or eating diet products that taste like cardboard gross, unappealing, and not sustainable, it's costly and unlikely you can keep shelling out the metaphorical dough beyond a few months. Overhauling your diet overnight is unrealistic and can feel very restrictive. When you feel restricted, you're more likely to lash out. 5. You get extreme results in a short amount of time

Losing 10 lbs in 2 weeks is possible. But yikes! Chances are if the pounds are melting off this quickly, what you’re doing is not healthy. In general, the quicker you lose the weight, the quicker you’ll gain it back.



6. Or make no changes at all

That's if it does anything at all! If you do see the scale shift, it's probably a few pounds of water weight, which you'll "gain back" as soon as you rehydrate.

While what we eat is important, following a structured meal plan and changing the way we eat alone is not enough to keep us going in the long-run.
